"This is an excellent place to stay for a few nights. Our room as in the attic and was small but well laid out, clean and very well maintained. The breakfast was excellent, with a choice of cooked dishes, as well as cereals, yogurt and juice. The central location makes it a good choice in this pretty town."

"Great location near Poole Quay. A few stairs to climb to room but great view of Sunseeker Boatyard from window!"

"We had a warm welcome and an easy check-in, the bistro/bar/outside area was a lovely setting in the evening sunshine and a great spot for breakfast in the morning, the room was a good size and everything was clean. We had a good sleep in the comfy bed and pillows. The hotel was easy to find having arrived by train and ideally located to the night life, close enough to stroll down but not so close you would be disturbed by it. Great weekend stay."

"I had single room, small but more than adequate. Staff were very friendly and free parking on site which was excellent.."

"Use the hotel only as a B&B, absolutely ok, so did not experience the quality of dining or bar meals. Breakfast was very good."

"Lovely building in a great location"

"If you are looking for a very convenient location when staying in Poole it would be hard to find one better than The Merchant House. Friendly owner who cooks a decent breakfast."

"On site parking was good. Staff were very helpful. Spacious room and comfortable bed. It is an old building so not perfect in places. Food was excellent in evening and staff very good. Only one real ale available on draft when we stayed but good quality. Enjoyed the breakfast, good value overall and would happily return."

"Very comfortable bed, good shower and quiet room. Friendly helpful staff, tasty breakfast. Excellent location within walking distance to beach. Free parking"

"We stayed at the nici for our wedding night and was very kindly upgraded to one of the best rooms in our hotel by the the assistant manager Danny! This made our stay even more beautiful than ever planned! The spa was so relaxing, the outdoor pool was beautiful and breakfast was superb! We will definitely back"

"Very friendly & accommodating staff. Excellent location for town centre, train station & quay. Excellent food with lovely eating areas. Enjoyed our stay. Room was good, but all that prevented giving 5 stars was that it would have been nice to have had some proper drawers to put clothes in."
