Hotel has so much history with it being the first and therefore the oldest hotel in Sri Lanka. It is beautifully restored and has 4 restaurants. A great buffet for breakfast afternoon tea and dinner. The King of the Mambo is an amazing bar right on the sea front. A great place to watch the waves crash before you 50 m away! Vishnu one of the bar team was excellent. Reserved a table for us each night and remembered our drinks! Swimming pool is huge right on the indian ocean.
We had a relaxing full body massage which was fabulous.
We got a balcony room at the front of the hotel which had great views. The room was large, big shower and separate toilet. Lots of wardrobe space and drawers. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and give it 11 out of 10!"
"Hotel reception area is very nice and brand new. Staff are also nice. Because it’s a new hotel the air in the bedroom smell dusty which made it somewhat uncomfortable.

"Not my best stay and never screamed the VIP access benefits i get under Expedia gold/hotels .Com gold member. The staff never cleaned my room having requested twice. The inroom dining service and amenities are god slow and awful . Staff doesnt pick up the remaining utensils and never really responds to calls . Multiple reminders , in person requests are needed. A very unpleasant stay for the beautiful beach property they have. Could and should have gotten am upgrade I was eligible for cause the hotel was less than half empty yet they have an excuse of it being full and overbooked well clearly it wasn't cause the room was showing online on various platforms. So very disappointed. Giving them 2 stars out of 5 only for the beach overview and the spa. Everything else a colossal disappointment."
