This was my first hotel in Zanzibar and I would return in heartbeat to stay longer. The aesthetic was relaxing, the owners were present and enjoyable to visit with. The food was DELICIOUS!! It was quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. The waters are somewhat shallow on the beach in the morning and then rise as the day continues. Be sure and wear water sandals or footwear with a hard sole. The hotel has a very quiet and enjoyable beachfront. The property is spacious so you don't feel that there are other guests. The buildings are very well maintained and the food is godd and reasonably priced. The bungalows are not air conditioned so it might get a bit warm during the very humid months (April and May). Overall a great stay. Definitely recommended !

Very unique and one of a kind hotel in the middle of stone town. Surely you can settle for comfort and choose Hyatt but you can do that anywhere in the world. Emerson Spice is a truly exceptional hotel with a very attentive staff. You will be wowed!

When you book a hotel you always read reviews with a pinch of salt. This hotel has fantastic reviews and with good reason. Everything from the welcome to our departure was absolutely first class without exception. A few members of staff deserve a special mention - Bernard, Mtoto, Nema and Baracka all helped make our stay extra special. The staff in general are exceptional including the kitchen staff who turn out superb food time after time and catered to my wife’s vegetarian requirements...

I celebrated my honeymoon on June 8th at Lux and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. In fact, I plan to return next year at the same time. I hope to see Grace, who works at the reception. Deluxe Apartment Sea Facing- 10/10. Clean. Great size. Quiet. Excellent view. First floor, so avoided noisy neighbours above us. Decent, but small safe. A/C worked well. Bathroom - 10/10. Clean. Lovely shower. Bed - 10/10. Very large. Very comfy. Mozzy nets and turn down service at night. WiFi - 10/10. Very good, considering where we were. Worked fine down by the pool and even worked by the beach! Pool - 10/10. Good size. Nice and clean laid out pool area, with plenty of loungers and shade....

The Lake Victoria view from the restaurant deck is so beautiful. The staff is super friendly and nice. I am amazed at how clean the staff keep it. My room was mopped fresh and clean each day. The breakfast was not to my liking. I am not a fan of certain foods which are more popular here. My major complaint was that my bed had an area that was uncomfortable but sleeping at an angle made up for it. Overall, a grand hotel.

This property has everything. There’s a whole welcoming committee that greets you with lemongrass juice and the owner gave us an thorough tour of the property. I can’t say enough about how gorgeous our villa was. Once you are there you never want to leave. The customer service was the best I’ve seen while traveling. The food is exceptional. The high end accommodations make you feel comfortable. They have set a benchmark for an exquisite experience.

Amazing service, and nice staff. It felt like a community and I was able to meet people from all around the world and we all started hanging out and doing activities together. I will definitely visit again.

TOA is a new facility in the as-yet unspoiled Pongwe Beach area. The facility itself is beautiful, and kept immaculately clean. The staff are unfailingly kind, helpful and efficient, and everyone greets you with a smile and warmth. The food is delicious and beautifully prepared, and the grounds and amenities are spotless and carefully maintained. The most memorable part of the stay is the staff; I cannot say enough about how kind and generous they are. I highly recommend a stay at TOA.
