Top neighborhoods in Asunción

Villa Morra
Villa Morra showcases Asunción's sophisticated side with high-end shopping centers and trendy dining spots along Avenida Mariscal López. This affluent neighborhood balances sleek office towers housing embassies with upscale leisure options. Visitors can explore Paseo Carmelitas or try their luck at American Casino while enjoying the polished urban landscape. Wide boulevards lined with international restaurants and boutiques make Villa Morra perfect for those seeking refined experiences. Hotels cater primarily to business travelers with luxury amenities and professional service. Though modern and commercial in character, the neighborhood offers a comfortable base for exploring Asunción's diverse attractions.

Catedral
Catedral neighborhood brings Asunción's rich history to life with every step you take. Colonial buildings frame cobblestone streets where the golden-domed Metropolitan Cathedral commands attention. History buffs will love exploring the marble-columned National Pantheon of Heroes and watching local life unfold in bustling plazas filled with the scent of fresh chipa bread. Traditional Paraguayan restaurants serve up sopa paraguaya alongside international cuisine throughout this walkable district. Most attractions sit within 10 blocks of each other, making exploration easy. Boutique hotels in converted colonial buildings offer authentic stays with easy access to the Paraguay River waterfront just six blocks away.

Recoleta
Recoleta brings upscale charm and green spaces to Asunción's urban landscape. The neighborhood's crown jewel is the expansive Botanical Garden with its century-old trees and peaceful walking paths. Elegant shopping centers like Shopping Mariscal and Villa Morra offer retail therapy between visits to the historic Recoleta Cemetery with its ornate mausoleums. Dining options range from refined Paraguayan cuisine to international fare in sophisticated settings. Most upscale hotels feature pools and premium amenities, while the tree-lined streets make exploring on foot a pleasure. City buses connect easily to downtown Asunción, with taxis readily available for longer journeys.

Las Lomas
Las Lomas combines upscale charm with peaceful tree-lined streets, making it Asunción's most exclusive neighborhood. Salud Park offers a lush retreat from city life, while nearby Shopping del Sol beckons with luxury boutiques and international brands. Corporate towers stand alongside elegant mansions and manicured gardens, showcasing modern Paraguay's affluent side. High-end restaurants serve elevated Paraguayan cuisine on stylish outdoor terraces. Accommodations range from luxury hotels with concierge service to boutique properties with pools and spas. Getting around is best by taxi or private car, though the neighborhood's wide, clean sidewalks make evening strolls a pleasure.

Manorá
Manorá blends business prestige with upscale leisure in Asunción's most affluent district. The World Trade Center's gleaming towers anchor this corporate hub while the Shopping del Sol mall delivers high-end retail therapy. After closing business deals, unwind in trendy bars or savor international cuisine at premium restaurants with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking manicured plazas. Modern hotels cater to executives with business centers and concierge services, making work trips comfortable and productive. Taxis and ride-sharing services provide reliable transportation throughout the neighborhood's wide boulevards. Though lacking traditional Paraguayan charm, Manorá's sophisticated atmosphere offers a polished experience for travelers seeking contemporary luxury.

Well Residences - By AVA Rentals
"Loved this place. Beautiful building, balcony, laundry, good WiFi, quiet street but walking distance to all the cafes and bars. Be aware that it’s a furnished apartment more so than a hotel, and as such the rooms aren’t serviced at all—you have to replace your own toilet paper, wash your own linens, take out your own trash. I think they offer service for an extra charge."

"Helpful and nice staff, delicious and healthy breakfast, very clean room, and great atmosphere highly recommended Thank you so much"
ZENTRUM Residences – By AVA Rentals
"Enjoyed my stay and location, sadly building work in area started at 1am where all you could hear was power saws cutting timber and metal shutterings being removed, i.e. banging of steel. Seems developers worked through the night with no interests in those living in area."
Palmaroga Hotel Asuncion, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
"A beautiful hotel with a great restaurant and close to historical Paraguay buildings"
Dazzler by Wyndham Asuncion
"El hotel esta muy bien ubicado, estuvimos en el piso 14, vista espectacular, la habitación muy amplia, con dos baños, un hall muy cómodo. El único inconveniente ,la habitación está justo debajo del bar,asi que es un poco ruidoso.Solicitamos cambiar la habitación, pero al final no fue necesario. En todo caso el personal de recepción fue muy atento y servicial."

"This a good and well located hotel, but the Internet is very bad!!"
Factoria Hotel
"It's happened to me in other hotels, you put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and they don't care, they come in anyway, however at Factoria I must say that didn't happen, they were super respectful, very attentive and friendly."
La Mision Hotel Boutique
"The hotel is beautiful, and we had a wonderful overall experience. I have just a couple of small suggestions that may help make an already excellent stay even better. First, I would encourage the hotel to check the door-closing mechanisms in the guest rooms. The doors close automatically, but they tend to close quite loudly, which can create a fair amount of noise, particularly in the morning as guests are leaving their rooms. Adjusting the mechanism so the doors close more softly could make a noticeable difference for guests who are still sleeping. My second suggestion relates to the use of fragrances throughout the hotel. My wife actually enjoyed the scent, but I found it somewhat strong and, at times, a little overwhelming. Perhaps the fragrance could be toned down slightly, simply recognizing that guests have different sensitivities and preferences when it comes to strong scents. These are both relatively minor suggestions. Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel and were very impressed with the property, service, and experience."
