What makes the difference is the staff, they make you feel welcomed and are very helpful. Admittedly the fist impression was a bit off. We typically stay in major chain hotels and our initial impression was that the location would not workout for us. However this quickly faded and our stay was quite pleasant. Impeccable. White glove clean. I was completely comfortable from the bathroom to the bed. The bed was as comfortable as my own bed which made me sleep as if I were at home. All aspects of my stay were perfect. Dania was exceptional in making our stay complete.

What can I say? This hotel was absolutely amazing, from the top-notch hotel service at the front desk to the property cleanliness; it outshined every hotel I’ve ever been to in my life. The town of Menaggio is very walkable and can be seen in half a day, so if you want to fill up your itinerary, you can take a ferry to Bellagio, or Varenna. Clean, very convenient location. Close to shops, restaurants. Just 10 min walk from train station with trains to Milan. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast. If you do not want stay in a big crowded city and be close to everything at the same time, then this is the best choice.

Hotel staff service is excellent, served chilled juice at check in and always were helpful. Recommend having them set up a rental boat for you! The pool is heated and comfortable. Close to town. Only complaint was the bed is to firm. But I'd still come back happily!!

Hotel has a public transportation literally across the street which is very convenient. The area surrounding the hotel looks a bit rough but I didn’t mind it. The wifi was fine and the hotel managed was pretty nice. The hotel was very clean as well

This is a beautiful hotel with a full delicious breakfast buffet of hot foods and ham, cheeses, etc. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious and it’s located on the waterfront. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A wonderful location next to restaurants and old churches. Absolutely stunning views. Love Como.

To enter the Hotel Excelsior Splendide is to experience the gently fading grandeur of another age. Yes, we had a 'room with a view' of the lake, with the ferries and hydrofoils, the passeggiata, the sun setting over the early 20th Century and George Bloody Clooney's villa somewhere over there. The hotel boasts several sets of plush lounges in the lobby, a restaurant, a lift, and a magnificent marble staircase which we used by preference, because we can, and really just for the grandeur of it...

The personel, especially Mr Marco of reception was super helpful and nice. I got parking place on the internal hotel parking, got an upgraded room and very good reccomendations where to go in the city

Check in made easy. The reception staff was nice and friendly and very attentive as well. A special shout-out to the attendant at the bar during the dinner time. Not sure what his name was but he was super friendly and quick with his service. I struggled with the language barrier in ordering but he was very kind.

The hotel location is closer(walkable) to the lake, ferry, funicular to Brunett, train station and the shopping district. This saves lot of your time. The hotel itself is nice with very courteous staff, nice restaurant onsite and complimentary breakfast in the morning. The best thing is our stay covered half board meaning dinner was covered in our room rate. The restaurant staff went out of their way to help us get variety in the menu every night as we are vegetarians. The food was very good....

I love the stay at hotel forum free breakfast was great . My only issue is the location was outside the city center it was a little difficult to get into the center on busy days traffic and the closest metro was a significant distance.. Staff was great also at night you had to enter behind the building very dark but was able to manage. If location is not a problem I highly recommend for Milan was good area with local restaurants .
