"Charming, elegant, comfortable hotel. Some rooms are modern while others are a bit dated but all comfortable. The first room I checked into was modern but had an issue with the AC so I was moved to a larger, older room. The staff was responsive and solved the issue promptly. Great location. "I had a wonderful 1-night stay at the Maternushaus. The location was perfect, within walking distance from the Cologne main train station (Köln Hauptbahnhof). The facility was very clean, and, while not fancy by any means, it had all that I needed: a very clean single room with private bathroom and a comfortable bed, TV, several electric outlets, good WiFi, etc. The included breakfast was excellent, and there's also a free drinking water station.
