Nice town, nice hotel. Only a little noise from the street, but is on a quiet side of town. Beds were nice, bathrooms were clean. Overall a good bargain.

The Berliner Hof was in an excellent location, one block from the Hauptbahnhof and central bus station, with many restaurants nearby. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. I had to take a bus to the Hamburg airport at 5AM, well before the dining room was open for breakfast. However, the evening before they asked if I would like to take a lunch box the next morning, and I said two pieces of bread and a piece of cheese and a bottle of water would be fine. Everything is new, and it's mostly wonderful. That said, whomever planned the lighting switches and electrical needs some practical education. WHY is the shower light in with the toilet and nowhere near the shower itself? There are just some NUTTY lighting switch and electrical configurations. Once you figure them out, it's OK, but seriously. And the super nice in-bathroom steam bath is great -- but NEVER accidentally run it with the door ajar. What a beautiful hotel hidden in the picturesque downtown. A large, mostly private courtyard and seating allows for an afternoon glass of wine or beer.
