Too far to go back and forth between Chur and the resort, but you won't want to leave Alpina anyway. Beautiful jaw-dropping hikes abound...

Arrived after dark after a flight from the U.S. and train to Chur. Stayed one night as we took the Bernina Express the next morning. Hotel is modern and spacious enough and convenient to the train station (8-10 minute walk). Breakfast was very good and early enough to catch the BE which departs at 8:30 AM. There is a good Italian restaurant across a side street from the hotel. Wish we had planned to be in Chur longer as it looked to be an interesting place to explore.
No need to write much here - my second stay there and it was simply amazing!
Only the wi-fi is not very functional. That said, you are there to ski and/or relax and not to spend your day on internet - right?
We followed Michelin's recommendation and were not disappointed. This medium size hotel has it all and makes your stay so pleasant. Great personalized welcome. Great suite with separate living quarters. Nice 'Swiss Muesli breakfast. Very much enjoyed the pool after our many hikes. The center of Arosa is within walking distance and right next to the famous Eichhörnliweg.
Hotel Ucliva is a charming property with hosts Dorothy and Bernard, who went out of their way to be helpful. On our way to the hotel, we ended up getting off at an incorrect train station in the middle of nowhere.
