Grand Hotel des Lles Borromees is a wonderfully elegant hotel set lakeside with beautiful grounds and gardens. My wife and I extended our stay from 3 to 5 nights - expensive, but well worth it. Great place to stay in Stresa. It's excellent but don't expect it to be like the Ritz. Within town center and 5mins walk to the ferry landing. However, it's a 15mins walk to the train station on cobblestone roads so pulling the suitcase was not as smooth. The A/C worked nicely and the bed was comfortable. Staff were very nice and welcoming. Enough time to hop on the ferry and visit other towns along Lake Maggiore.

Checked in real late and had a hard time finding it even thru the GPS from the car rental. Staff was very nice and helpful and friendly. Super nice pool and sauna area. Room was very cozy and clean. Bed was big and clean.

This was both the least expensive and our favorite hotel of a two week trip. Quaint, clean, with a lovely lobby, lounge, and dining area. Rooms were of a nice size with absolutely no flaw that we could see. Franco and Michaela hosted us with grace and just the right amount of attention. We departed as fast friends. Great place on a pond. Good breakfast included. Good Location , easy access to milan and the northern lakes.

Spacious rooms with well appointed bathroom and massage shower. Restaurant offerings were above average with a good wine list. Friendly staff and overall pleasant stay. Really quick access (20 minutes) by car to Malpensa airport.

Staff was very accommodating, courteous, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Stayed a week and it felt like home! Large pool, and gym. Which were clean and very usuable. There was a horse track across the street, but it was not loud and it did not dictract me from my sleep.

I recently spent 9 nights at this lovely hotel and was absolutely thrilled with the decision to do so. The room was smaller, which wasn't a huge deal given that it was really just to sleep and shower in with maybe some down time in between. When I arrived, I was promptly greeted and given the key to my room, as well as advised of where it was located. Lovely hotel in spectacular location on lake Lugano. Art center, historic sites, restaurants, and shopping within easy walking distance. Hotel breakfast, pool, and common areas were exceptional and staff were super helpful and friendly.

Very large and comfortable room. Easy and helpful technology to operate features in the room. Exceptional breakfast with lots of choices. Convenient location next to the train. Was easy to take a train to the Locarno city center in under 15 minutes. Transportation is included with the Ticino pass so request it from the front desk. Recommend this property.

To start , some of us can't leave without Ac , this property not only has one but one that works , ( those of you who travel through the old world understand). Service is exceptional, and property is not a resort size but big enough. Great for families and couples as well, available bikes for all ages, pool ( small but warm) gym, indoor pool, on site dining option , and again service excellent.

A wonderful breakfast buffet. If you are arriving by train, it's a bit difficult to access: too far to walk with luggage. It over 1 km from the train station. If you have a car, it's wonderful. You can walk to town easily without luggage and spend a half-day there.
