Downtown Huntington Beach
Downtown Huntington Beach serves up California dreams with sandy toes and salty air. The iconic pier stretches into the Pacific while Main Street buzzes with surf shops and beachy bars. Catch waves at dawn, browse the International Surfing Museum, or join a volleyball game on golden shores. Fire pits dot the beach for perfect sunset gatherings with friends. Most spots are within easy walking distance in the pedestrian-friendly core. Casual eateries offer everything from fish tacos to craft beer, often with ocean views. Beachfront hotels and boutique inns provide stylish stays, though they command premium prices during peak season.

Sunset Beach
Stretched along Pacific Coast Highway, this beachfront community boasts one of southern California's widest beaches and a 14-acre park called the Green Belt. Enjoy local dining options like Captain Jack's and admire the award-winning mural at the main Post Office.

Pacific City
Pacific City treats your senses to oceanfront luxury where glass-fronted restaurants and boutiques frame stunning Pacific views. Beach access points lead straight to golden sands where you can dip your toes between shopping trips. The multi-level complex buzzes with upscale dining options while fire pits on the central plaza offer perfect sunset-watching spots. Expect to find California cuisine and seafood dominating the menus at ocean-view restaurants. Most visitors arrive by car, with ample parking available despite limited public transit. The development itself is wonderfully walkable, with wide promenades connecting stylish hotels that typically command premium rates.

Huntington Harbour
Huntington Harbour offers a California dream escape with winding waterways and luxury vibes. Stroll along peaceful pedestrian paths that curve between upscale waterfront homes and private yacht clubs. The calm harbor waters are perfect for paddleboarding while Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve and nearby beaches satisfy nature lovers. Upscale waterfront restaurants serve fresh seafood with gorgeous harbor views. Most travelers need cars to explore, as public transit is limited. Accommodation options feature premium vacation rentals with private docks, offering a taste of the good life in this serene marina community.

The iconic 1,850-foot pier extends into the Pacific, ideal for fishing or watching surfers ride perfect waves. Main Street buzzes with beach energy, surf shops, and the Duke Kahanamoku statue honoring surfing royalty. The US Open of Surfing attracts world-class athletes, while consistent breaks welcome beginners too. Beach accommodations range from cozy motels to luxury oceanfront resorts with sunset views. Casual beachfront establishments serve fish tacos and craft beer on outdoor patios with ocean breezes. Though public transit is limited, the area remains perfectly walkable, with coastal bike paths making exploration effortless.

Learn more about Huntington Beach
Grab a board and ride the legendary waves that earned this place the nickname 'Surf City.' The 9.5-mile stretch of golden sand invites volleyball matches and sunset bonfires beneath the iconic pier. At the International Surfing Museum, vintage boards tell tales of wave-riding pioneers. Main Street buzzes with surf shops and seafood spots where locals debate which break had the best sets that morning. Pacific City's shops offer retail therapy when skin needs a break from sun, while Bella Terra provides entertainment options for rare rainy days. After dark, beachfront fire pits become social hubs where strangers become friends over s'mores and guitar strumming.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Huntington Beach Orange County
"The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. Checkin was fast, Our room was clean and spacious. The shower had strong water pressure. Overall a great spot for a weekend getaway. There is an In N Out next door but we never heard any noise come from the drive through. Plenty of good restaurants to choose from."
Huntington Surf Inn
"right across from the beach"
Paséa Hotel & Spa
"Fabulous location on the beach and right next to shops and restaurants. This is a smaller, more intimate hotel with delightful front desk and valet staff."
Best Western Harbour Inn & Suites Huntington - Sunset Beach
"The property is very convenient and walkable to restaurants and activities in the Harbour. Onsite parking was a plus. We did not utilize the free breakfast so no idea what that was like. The room was fine and had a larger mini fridge, big tv and the rooms were a good size, plus we had a balcony. The property itself is old and is showing its age. Having said that we would probably stay again due to its convenient walkable location."
Extended Stay America Suites Orange County Huntington Beach
"All the staff was very friendly and attentive. Our room was spotless and we were able to ask for amenities if needed."
Ocean Surf Inn & Suites
"Our room was clean, hotel is a little older but perfect area. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was simple small pancakes, danishes, cereal. Yes there’s coffees. Beach location is amazing just a small walk. Neighborhood is super clean. My grandson and I walked late at night to the beach no issue. I think it’s a perfect stay close to the beach."
