Learn more about Rocky Top
Formerly known as Coal Creek, this tiny town renamed itself after the famous song 'Rocky Top' in 2014. Cast a line into Norris Lake where bass fishing borders on religion for locals. The Coal Creek Miners Museum reveals the area's gritty past through artifacts that tell stories of hard-won labor rights. Norris Dam State Park offers hiking trails where you might spot wildlife that couldn't care less about your Instagram feed. The Museum of Appalachia, just outside town, displays mountain culture with authentic log cabins and folk art that wasn't made to be sold in gift shops. After exploring, join locals at family-run diners where servers remember your order before you do and cornbread comes without asking.

"This hotel has been remodeled. It’s not fancy, yet clean ! I’m picky about the cleanliness. That’s what I was most impressed with. The bed was comfy and I loved the vinyl floors. The tv worked great. The front desk was super friendly and helped us with everything in a timely manner. Thankful for a clean hotel that was reasonably priced."
