Frontier history comes alive at Fort Davis National Historic Site, where 19th-century military buildings stand against the dramatic Davis Mountains backdrop. After dark, the McDonald Observatory transforms into a stargazer's paradise with some of the darkest skies in the country. Hiking trails wind through Davis Mountains State Park, revealing vistas that explain why this high-desert landscape captivates visitors. The Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center showcases native plants that somehow thrive in this seemingly harsh environment. Take a break from outdoor adventures with a tasting at Château Wright Winery, where the elevation produces surprisingly complex vintages. History buffs shouldn't miss the Overland Trail Museum's artifacts from when stagecoaches rumbled through this remote outpost.
Nice and very friendly staff (couldn't ask for better treatment), clean room, newly renovated, wide parking spaces, good location, excellent value. We definitely look forward to returning here!!!
Beautifully decorated sparkling clean room with plenty of space. Lovely kitchen with everything provided. There were also laundry facilities that were very handy!
We stayed for three nights. I am not going to lie, I was a little anxious about this one but it fit our budget so we gave it a try. So glad we did as it was wonderful! It was our first B&B type of experience. The strangeness of roaming around someone else's home was short lived, sharing a bathroom was no problem at all, and sitting down to breakfast with all the other guests turned out to be so much fun! The home is lovely, warm, and inviting. You can watch the deer come up into the yard while...
We really liked this hotel. Room was nice and clean. Staff were friendly. Great breakfast! They also provided dog area for our small dog. It is worth to stay here, Thank you!
This was one of the most charming places we’ve ever stayed. The Fort Davis Drug Store Hotel is in the old-timey downtown of Fort Davis, in an actual old drug store. As a guest, you have access to the the old drug store on the bottom floor, which has a pool table and ping pong, and then an amazing common room on the top floor, which has games, albums, and supplies to make breakfast. Every room is so charming—big beds, lovely bedding, lots of decoration and character. Some rooms have astonishing...
The Lincoln Marfa is an inviting property with charming amenities and centrally located to many galleries, restaurants and cafes. Highly recommend The Lincoln while in Marfa! Staff is friendly and accommodating.
This place is a must stay. You check in at the Riata Motel front desk. The young man working it is very polite and accommodating. He even walked over to our cabin to show us how to operate the air conditioning. The coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator were all a great plus. Sitting up on the rooftop deck having coffee at sunrise is priceless. We will definitely be back. And, bed is so comfortable.
Great stay! We got in very very late and they still had our room keys waiting for us with no hassle. Super easy check-in and check-out, very friendly owners. Clean and quiet. We had no issues with neighbors, no parking issues, no issues whatsoever.
We drove into town through dense fog. This was a safe haven. Staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was awesome. The only drawback was of all the TV channels available we could find none with US news and local weather. The news was available in the breakfast room. The WiFi connected in the evening, but not in the morning. Overall a good stay.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Seems like an old 50's motel (and in some ways it is), but overall a nice attempt to keep the rooms updated and clean. Great courtyard for guests to relax and socialize that is not viewable from street traffic. Staff was very polite and helpful with check-in and any assistance we needed. Would stay here again and would recommend to you, friends, and family.
Staff upgraded our room. It was huge which allowed us to bring our bicycles in (Ft. Davis CycleFest) without tripping over them all the time. We arrived very late, but everything was in order. We slept late and only had a few minutes before breakfast ended. However, staff accommodated us and we ate a great, HOT breakfast.
This motel was a great value. I would definitely stay here again.
