Learn more about Big Sur
Winding along the Pacific Coast Highway, you'll find yourself caught between mountains and sea in a landscape that defies belief. Bixby Bridge arches dramatically over a coastal canyon, providing the perfect photo opportunity. At Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, witness McWay Falls tumbling directly onto the beach below. Pfeiffer Beach rewards visitors with purple-tinged sand and massive rock formations with wave-carved keyholes. Los Padres National Forest offers hiking trails through ancient redwood groves where sunlight filters through in cathedral-like beams. Accommodations fill quickly, so book well ahead. Local tip: bring provisions as services are scarce along this magnificent stretch of coastline.

Hotel Pacific
"This hotel is beautiful & is close to everything. The rooms are spacious & nice . The breakfast was good. My only complaint was that our room was on the ground floor facing the street. I asked to change rooms if possible but staff member said no because all pet friendly rooms were on the ground floor. The 2nd floor also has street side because the hotel sits on different levels. She did not even discuss other rooms options with me. We pay an additional $50 for our pet & we don’t get other options. This isn’t right."
The Stevenson Monterey
"Good location The hotel is simple but it’s worth what we paid for"
Sand Castle Inn
"Staff was very friendly and the room was very clean and updated."
Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa
"The downside was that there was no self parking available- there was only valet parking."
Monarch Resort
"Good for an overnight stay."
Stargazer Hotel
"Very clean and seemed like newly renovated rooms. Very minor, but I noticed the tp holder was torn from the wall but reporting it to the front desk was seamless. I appreciate the social area outside with cute string lights."
Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa
"Good location for route 1 , bars and restaurants and the harbour but long walk to cannery row area. car parking charge is excessive and unnecessary in my opinion. Breakfast not included and restaurant we thought was expensive so did not use it and walked 5 mins into town. Pool nice touch"

Lucia Lodge
"Bliss. ethereal. It’s not the 4 seasons, it’s better. Exquisite view. Peaceful. Simple. Cozy."
