Downtown Richmond
Explore the central business district, home to Fortune 500 companies and architectural gems like the Virginia State Capitol. Discover vibrant nightlife in Shockoe Bottom and Shockoe Slip districts.

Fan District
Boasting a long stretch of Victorian architecture, this residential area is home to VCU's Monroe Park Campus, tree-lined avenues, and numerous parks. Explore local cafes, restaurants, and the nearby Virginia Center for Architecture at Branch House.

Scott's Addition
Scott's Addition serves up a former industrial district now buzzing with creative energy and craft beverages. This walkable grid of brick warehouses has transformed into Richmond's hippest playground. You can hop between breweries, meaderies, and cideries while food trucks sizzle nearby. Vintage arcade bars and bowling alleys keep the fun rolling well into the night. Getting around is best done on foot, with the compact layout perfect for venue-hopping. Limited bus service means ride-sharing is your friend for ventures beyond the neighborhood. Boutique hotels in converted lofts offer industrial-chic lodging, while rooftop bars provide stunning city views after sunset.

Shockoe Slip
Shockoe Slip's cobblestone streets transport you to Richmond's storied past where 19th-century tobacco warehouses now house trendy boutiques and art galleries. The scenic Canal Walk invites you to stroll alongside the James River while reading markers that bring the city's industrial heritage to life. After dark, the district transforms as historic brick facades glow warmly under gas-style street lamps. Upscale restaurants in converted warehouses serve modern American cuisine, while casual riverside spots offer craft beers and relaxed vibes. Most accommodations feature boutique hotels with exposed brick and river views. The compact district is easily explored on foot, though those cobblestones definitely call for sturdy shoes.
Shockoe Bottom
Shockoe Bottom's cobblestone streets tell tales of Richmond's past, where 19th-century buildings now house trendy art spaces and nightlife spots. The Edgar Allan Poe Museum's enchanting garden courtyards offer literary charm, while the American Civil War Museum provides historical depth. Former tobacco warehouses have transformed into galleries and performance venues, creating a perfect mix of history and modern creativity. The neighborhood buzzes with restaurants serving Virginia comfort food and craft cocktails in converted historic buildings. Boutique hotels occupy restored structures, giving travelers a chance to sleep surrounded by history. While limited public transit exists, the area is highly walkable, with the scenic James River waterfront just steps away.

Linden Row Inn
"We loved staying here. It’s a beautiful and historic location. Our room was great, very comfortable and well appointed. Parking was a block away but easy to access. Lots of nice restaurants within walking distance too."
The Commonwealth
"Room was clean. Beds were okay. Pillows were not. WiFi did not work, not sure why. Staff were incredible, however. Very pleasant and informative, all around. They are why I'm leaving 4 stars"
The Jefferson Hotel
"Very nice first impression. The hotel has a wonderful old-world character, with beautiful decorations and details dating back 150 years. The rooms are huge, with walk-in closets, newly renovated bathrooms, and even a TV built into the bathroom mirror. Unfortunately, there were several issues that took away from the experience. Our room had essentially no view, looking directly at the next building about 10 feet away. There were also very bright, reflector-style lights outside, and because the blinds were broken, we could not make the room completely dark at night. This was quite annoying. There was also quite a bit of dust in hidden areas, such as the window sills and the top shelves of the walk-in closet. We were given a room next to the elevator, so we could hear the elevator dings and the elevator itself passing by. Fortunately, the noise was noticeable but not too extreme. For a five-star hotel, I found the food pricing to be very reasonable. However, I would appreciate better-quality ingredients and less reliance on pre-made or boxed products. I would be happy to pay more for food that reflects the quality and standards expected from a five-star property. The staff were very polite, friendly, and helpful. Overall, I think the hotel has tremendous potential, but it needs a stronger management team and more consistent attention to detail to make sure these deficiencies are addressed regularly. A beautiful property with a lot of character."
