"I recently stayed here with my friend to celebrate her birthday, and while there were some positives, our overall experience left much to be desired. Positives: - Room Quality: Our room was spacious and featured a lovely balcony with a fantastic view. This aspect truly added to our enjoyment and provided a nice spot to relax. - Location: The hotel is situated in a beautiful area, making it convenient to explore local attractions. Negatives: - Staff Attitude: While we encountered a few welcoming staff members, many seemed annoyed and unfriendly. This inconsistency affected the overall atmosphere and made us feel less valued as guests. - Service Issues: Despite not requiring room service or daily cleaning, we were surprised by the inconsistency in service. - Security Concerns: Unfortunately, we experienced a significant issue when my friend’s necklace was taken from her bag in our room. It’s concerning that her belongings were rummaged through, especially since this occurred in a hotel setting. Overall Impression: While we had some enjoyable moments, the negative aspects—particularly the staff's attitude and the security issues—dampened our experience. For a special occasion like a birthday, we expected a more attentive and pleasant environment. Given that this was my first trip to the Bahamas, I left feeling disappointed and unsure about returning, and certainly wouldn’t return to this particular hotel."

"We were excited by all the posted reviews. Booked figuring despite the cost it would be worth it however maintenance closed straight path to the cove pool and had to walk around for the remainder of our stay with three kids in transit. Room was not well cleaned - dust on mirror, glass tables, jellybeans on floor and room smelled of dirty sulfur water (horrible brushing teeth) and the water ran on toilet for 10min . Interesting what hard earned money can get you. That said kids loved the water park and fitness center was nice."

"The mattresses are horrible, several elderly ppl I saw and heard complaining about the beds, I too felt the mattresses need to be changed. Otherwise Hotel Riu was great the entertainers, and pool staff, security was amazing. the shuttle company Shuttle Central the bus was in very poor condition."

"We recently stayed at The Reef at Atlantis while I was travelling for work, and it worked well for both business and family. From a family perspective, it was a great choice. The kids absolutely loved the water park, and the aquarium is genuinely spectacular — there was always something to explore. They also really enjoyed the kids’ club, which gave them some independence and variety during the stay. My husband made the most of the casino, so there was truly something for everyone. The room itself was a highlight. Having a full kitchen gave us much-needed flexibility, especially when travelling with children, and made the stay far more comfortable and convenient. From a work standpoint, the location was very practical. It was easy to get to and from meetings, which made balancing work and family time much smoother. The main area for improvement would be the food. The options felt somewhat limited, and the overall quality could be better given the standard of the resort. Overall, it’s a very good option if you’re looking to combine work and family travel, with plenty to keep everyone entertained, but with some room to improve on dining."

"The hotel is very nice but has some issues that are not acceptable at this price point. The rooms are clean but could use some upgrades. The bathroom had cracked tiles, sink that drained very slow, one of the sinks didn’t dispense cold water, etc. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating and the ocean front views are breath taking. We did have some issues with our door not locking and unlocking upon arrival and the hotel also forgot to pick us up after one of the tours we booked through them. The food is ok. For this price we were expecting more. "
