Check-in took about 30 seconds. Check-out took about 10 seconds. Breakfast was not hot but had several protein options and excellent coffee. Our room had a gorgeous view of a glacier.
We stay 2 nights at Aurora Cabin. It is located on Highway 1 and it is easy to find. The Cabin is Cosy and have a nice Kitchen with everything we need to cook for a good meal. We met the Property Owner Ivac on 2nd day. He is nice and helpful. He told us where and when to look for Northern Light. We saw Northern Light that night just outside the Cabin. The Cabin is just a few miles from Hofn where we can buy Grocery We will definitely stay at Aurora Cabin again if we come back to Iceland
A beautiful property located close to many things. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very kind and welcoming. It felt very cozy and homey and I was sad to leave!
We enjoyed our short stay here. Breakfast and dinner was delicious (only breakfast was free). The rooms were clean, warm, and cozy. Lots of antiques throughout the building. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling south of Iceland.
Great location for the Ring Road experience. Staff was awesome (Anna was our favorite!). Facilities are mostly new and everything was good. Room was a little warm in the morning but I imagine that's an anomaly for Iceland!
This place is great and the owner is so nice. We stayed two nights and the morning we were scheduled to leave a storm came through that knocked out the power and closed all the roads around us. They allowed us to hang out until the roads opened and even found ways to feed us both breakfast and lunch. The hotel itself is in a great location right off the main road and close to the small fishing village of Hofn. Part of the glacier is visable from our room and the food is delicious. Great place to stay if you plan on visiting the Vatnajökull National Park. We came from the west so we were able to visit the Vatnajökull Glacier Lagoon right before checking into our hotel, but we went back the very next day because it was so beautiful and because this hotel was close by. Our room was comfy, cozy, and the breakfast here was the best we had in Iceland! Loved this place!!!
