The resort is a great mix - daytrippers come in by boat in the AM, party until 3 pm; VIP party private boats party until 4:30; after, the resort is very peaceful and romantic. Sunsets around 6 pm are beautiful. The rooms are basic but more than enough given you only really will be sleeping in them - comfortable beds, AC, no insects.

Spots around Cartagena tend to be touristed in a so-crowded-you-can't-see-the-beach way which is especially why we adored this lovely hotel. We were honored to be the first guests after Isla Azul’s reopening under new management. The hotel manager Pedro is exceptionally friendly and customer-focused. He and his team were a highlight of our stay. He coordinated awe-inspiring snorkeling and phytoplankton tours with an experienced local guide. Staff were mediocre. Island was beautiful! Transportation was a little unsafe. They drop you at the dock without parking the boat. They always seem in a hurry. I recommend to arrange transportation with the hotel not outside boats.
I use this property to overnight when I was diving. The power is only on at night but the breeze and fan was adequate for getting us good night's sleep. The water is solid although I didn't trust it for drinking. The owners couldn't have been nicer and they included breakfast was good.
We stayed at Casa Rosario from Sunday to Thursday, and I can’t even put into words how much I enjoyed the place. The staff there were absolutely amazing. The young girls were so kind and even helped me with my Spanish, which isn’t very strong.

If you want an island experience this is the place I loved it no TV's just outside fun the staff was super friendly we ate together and played dominos together. Erika helped me with anything and everything I needed she got me picked up from the airport and dropped off at my first hotel then handled the rides and boat to the island.
