The driver is very kind in recommending local food places for us (e.g. longjing restaurant main branch, 奎元馆) which is cheap and good and locals visited. Even after check in, if driver is available, also help to send us to dinner and pick us up after dinner, bringing us nearby shops to get something we needed. Driver also recommended us good places for massage. Concierge was also very friendly, with good memories as they keep track of our parcels when we were out for sightseeing. Although room is a bit old fashioned, but it’s clean and beds are comfortable. Thumbs up for everything."

"The building was built in the 1950s, so that’s the style. The location is perfect, with the lake right in front of your eyes. Rooms are solid built and quiet which is hard to achieve with modern buildings. Once you shut the balcony door you can’t hear the hustle and bustle outside. Breakfast is great with a gorgeous view of the lake. If one is looking for a modern hotel this is not the recommended one. But if one is interested in history and wants to stay at the same hotel a lot of world leaders stayed at, one may feel he/she is reliving the history here. Love the lotuses in the lobby by the way, very summery."
