"Hadn’t heard of this place before and gave it a go instead of the usual chains as I got a good deal and was on the right side of Aberdeen for us. Plenty parking unlike the airport hotels impressive entrance. Large comfortable modern room, good breakfast and large pool you could have a proper swim in. Will defitntley use again when coming to the area."

"The small village of Tarland is very quiet, so we were surprised at just how good the Commercial Hotel is. I understand that a lot of walkers & cyclists use the hotel and I'm not surprised, as it is in beautiful surroundings and only 5 miles from Aboyne. We received a very pleasant welcome, and our room was large, beautifully furnished and very quiet. Whilst we stayed for 2 nights, circumstances meant we only had breakfast although on our last evening, we saw that the restaurant was quite popular. Breakfast was special with a large choice of cook to order food and lots of tea or coffee. We will stay here again and recommend it to any one looking for a nice hotel in the area."

"We stayed in the Kennels apartment and it was ideal, the most dog friendly accommodation we have come across. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and the staff were lovely. Definitely going to stay again."

"We stayed in one of the offsite casa style rooms which was perfect for our family (we were parents travelling with two teenagers). Room was clean and had all we needed for our two night stay. We appreciated the afternoon scones and tea in the main hotel. We were surprised that our rooms didn’t have any housekeeping between our first and second nights so I’m not sure if that was part of the casa room service or not but our request for addition towels was taken care of quickly!"
