"The staff are very helpful and friendly. It is clean and well maintained. Surprisingly quiet. Hang Out space has coffee wine beer and an available refrigerator and microwave to bring your own food. Breakfast is Skyr , granola, pastry with jam, juice, apple and a coffee/hot chocolate machine."

"Lovely stay at the KEX Hotel/Hostel! We had 3 people in one of the private rooms/baths, and had a spectacular view of the waterfront, with easy walking distance to the town center for meals and shopping. The hotel/hostel was nicely maintained, with a nicely lit yet still cozy large lobby with coffee and tea available for people to relax, work, or just hang out. Nice to be able to spin a load of laundry and chatting with people from all over the world. And don't leave without having the amazing breakfast! Wow! Fresh fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, and assortment of toasts and cereals. Just perfect to fuel up for the day's adventure. Highly recommend!!!"

"The hotel is in a good location, however the location is so centrally located the bars are playing loud music late. It’s not so bad on the weekdays but the weekends it goes pretty late. Even with a white noise machine we brought you could still hear the bass. Facing the plaza would definitely be the loudest. In the summer with no heat on we still needed to have the window open to get a cooler temperature. Which of course makes things louder. Other than the noise everything was great. There are some pretty good restaurants near the hotel as well."

"The room was cleaned. Housekeeping only on request. Room was very basic, nothing like the 4 stars in other countries. Staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very basic. We had dinner in the restaurant on the day we arrived. It was 9pm, kitchen was about to close and they still served us. We enjoyed the meal."

"Excellent location to explore Reykjavík on foot or take tours using Reykjavík as home base. Bakery, restaurant and bar on site were very good. When we booked, we thought breakfast was included but it was not. Room did not have a thermostat to control temp and it was very warm. I would still recommend staying here."
