Top neighborhoods in Scottsdale

Old Town
Old Town Scottsdale serves up Wild West charm with a splash of modern flair. Wander past adobe buildings housing Western art galleries and bronze cowboy sculptures. The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art adds an artistic punch, while the historic Little Red Schoolhouse whispers tales of yesteryear. Browse Native American jewelry shops and vibrant galleries during the popular Thursday ArtWalk. Southwestern cuisine dominates the food scene, from casual taco joints to upscale steakhouses with mesquite-grilled specialties. Most attractions sit within easy walking distance in this compact district. The free trolley connects major spots during peak seasons, making car-free exploration a breeze.

Arcadia
Arcadia blends upscale living with stunning natural beauty just minutes from downtown Phoenix. Lush citrus trees and palm-lined streets create a surprisingly green oasis in the desert landscape. Hike nearby Camelback Mountain for jaw-dropping views or explore the Shemer Art Center for a cultural fix. The Arizona Canal Trail offers perfect spots for morning walks or sunset bike rides. The neighborhood boasts high-end shopping at Biltmore Fashion Park where designer boutiques and fine dining await. Most visitors find that having a car is essential as public transit options are limited. Accommodations range from luxury resorts to upscale vacation rentals, all offering that peaceful retreat feeling after a day of Phoenix exploration.

Central Scottsdale
Central Scottsdale dazzles with upscale shopping at Fashion Square Mall and artistic flair at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Stroll through Old Town's Western-themed streets lined with galleries showcasing Native American art and contemporary Southwestern pieces. Golf enthusiasts can tee off at Starfire Golf Club while nature lovers explore the peaceful landscapes of Scottsdale Ranch Park. Dining options range from celebrity chef restaurants to farm-to-table concepts featuring mesquite-grilled steaks and prickly pear margaritas. Luxury resorts and boutique hotels offer desert spas and championship golf courses. The area is well-connected by Valley Metro bus routes and has excellent ride-sharing availability.

Downtown Scottsdale
Downtown Scottsdale delivers desert sophistication with a side of nightlife magic. The Entertainment District lights up after dark with rooftop bars and buzzy restaurants where the cocktails flow freely. Art lovers can wander between Western Spirit Museum's cowboy treasures and the sleek Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Old Town's adobe-style buildings house Native galleries that showcase incredible turquoise jewelry and handcrafted pottery. The area shines with walkability—most attractions sit within a 10-minute stroll of each other. The free Scottsdale Trolley connects you to Fashion Square's luxury shopping when your feet need a break. Accommodations range from boutique hotels with Southwestern flair to upscale resorts where pool lounging becomes an art form.

Kierland
The Kierland neighborhood in Scottsdale delivers desert luxury with a splash of retail therapy. Upscale shopping centers like Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter feature designer boutiques, cascading fountains, and palm-lined walkways. Championship golf greens beckon players while high-end restaurants serve up culinary masterpieces against mountain backdrops. Art galleries and wine bars round out the sophisticated scene. Getting around requires wheels—either your own rental or a ride-share since public transit is limited. The area's resorts offer plush accommodations with spa treatments and attentive service. Expect a polished, commercialized atmosphere rather than an authentic neighborhood vibe, perfect for travelers seeking comfort with Southwestern flair.

"Loved every part of the hotel, the only I would say for the Orange Sky restaurant, they could have done better celebrating people’s birthday"

"Clean room"
Holiday Inn Club Vacations Scottsdale Resort by IHG
"Stay was nice and the room was clean. Staff were helpful. Only thing I didn't like was that they basically want you to go to a conference that is basically wanting you to purchase a timeshare. I got repeated calls even after my trip was long over. The location is great but the push for the timeshare did ruin it some for us."

"I think the whole resort was fabulous amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the best time ever."

DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Paradise Valley - Scottsdale
"A little disappointing overall. Check-in was great: quick, efficient, friendly, and guests were given two bottles of water and a delicious cookie. May be small details but where do you ever get free bottled water these days? They’re usually charged at $3 (or more) each in your room, right? Guest rooms were large with sliding doors leading to a pleasant and quite private patio; plenty of nice toiletries such as lotion, shampoo, etc. Refrigerator, coffee maker. All in all a surprisingly nice value for the going rate but what was really disappointing and annoying was that the morning of my checkout I NEEDED ice to pack my lunch and snacks for the day since I was going to be working all day … one ice machine was simply not there where it was indicated on the map. Another was not producing any ice. I asked another guest in a different area where there might be a working ice machine, and was informed that the one near him wasn’t working either. I don’t know, it just chapped me that in a nice resort-style hotel there wasn’t ONE working ice machine anywhere that I could find."

"Cant wait for my next stay:)"
Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows
"This is a wonderful place to stay with individual, spread-out bungalows. The staff was top rate. 2 of the pools are public – one adults only and one a family pool. The 3rd swimming pool is private for RETREAT patrons only. You don't see a lot of staff, but when we called the front desk we received anything we needed rather quickly. The food was excellent. It was a great place to stay! And very well located."
