Thon Hotel Alta
10/10 Excellent
"Staff very accommodating for a change in plans. I also had sent to the hotel some sports equipment, and everything was seating for me at their baggage storage room. Excellent breakfast. Bed felt a little strange at first but I had a good night sleep. Was lucky to get a room that sees the northern lights cathedral."
Scandic Alta
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent location right in Alta center (which is very small), best buffet breakfast at a very reasonable price in all 3 weeks of my Norway travel, front desk staff very helpful/polite/professional, clean and comfortable room with spacious bathroom(shower, toilet, sink, hair dryer, towel racks. Only 2 downsides: 1) need expanded dinner menu 2) cost 250 NOK one way from airport and bus schedule is unreliable. The bus does stop about 4 minute walk away in big parking lots across the street from Thon hotel which is next door to Scandic"
Bjørnfjell Mountain Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Nice place if you like hiking or skiing"
Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Wow! We were warm in sleeping bags provided. Sleeping in an igloo hotel? Awesome."
Flatmoen Natur Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"We had a fantastic stay at Flatmoen Natur Lodge in Alta. The cabins are modern, very clean, and well designed, with private jacuzzis that made it easy to relax after a long day outside. A highlight of the trip was the horse-drawn sleigh ride with Johnny. It included a campfire dinner and was a really memorable experience. Johnny is the real deal, a genuinely kind and authentic person who clearly cares about what he does and about his guests. Overall, a unique and comfortable place to stay, with experiences that feel personal rather than touristy. We would absolutely come back."
