We’ve stayed at several Home2 Suites before, but this was our first disappointing experience. Upon arrival, we found that the room thermostat wasn’t working. We immediately called the front desk but were told there was no maintenance available until 7 AM. It was hot overnight, and we had to remove our toddler’s clothes because he was sweating so much.
The next morning, breakfast options were very limited—mostly bread, eggs, and what tasted like cardboard bacon. I followed up again about the thermostat and was told maintenance was still unavailable. Before leaving at 10:30 AM, I reminded the receptionist that we had a cat in the room and asked that they not leave the door open during repairs.
Later, I received an email saying the issue couldn’t be fixed because our cat wasn’t in a cage. I called to explain that we were already out and couldn’t return just to cage the cat. The thermostat issue was not our fault, and the hotel should have offered a room change when we first reported it. This experience was very frustrating and disappointing compared to our previous stays.
