My experience at Hotel Rif and in Curaçao overall was disappointing, marked by a lack of professionalism and hospitality that severely impacted my stay.
1. Hotel Rif: Poor Service and General Neglect
• Water Slide Area Bar: The bar in this area was filthy and poorly maintained. The staff member in charge had a terrible attitude, remained seated the entire time, glued to their phone, and seemed annoyed whenever anyone approached for service.
• Staff Behavior: Employees were frequently seen vaping, talking on their phones, and listening to loud audios in common areas such as the Mondi Café, creating an unprofessional and unpleasant atmosphere for guests.
• Obsessed with Cell Phones: Across the hotel, employees appeared more concerned with their phones than with attending to guests. This was consistent in every area, giving an impression of disinterest and poor management.
• Lack of Attention to Cleanliness: Dishes and glasses were left dirty in open areas for hours, reflecting poor maintenance and neglect.
2. Check-In and Wait Times:
The check-in process was disorganized and slow, taking 45 minutes with only one staff member attending to multiple arriving guests in an area without air conditioning. Additionally, restaurant wait times often exceeded an hour,
