"Castle Inn was a quaint, clean & charming apartment in the center of the old Castle area. We felt like we were living like a local even though it is a popular tourist destination. It is very central to everything.
The owners were always quick to respond & were very helpful.
We would definitely stay there again. "
"Great room, great location, shower was a bit tight but overall would stay here again. Breakfast was excellent, staff always helpful, bed comfortable. Only thing is the tv’s didn’t have apps (Netflix) that I could figure out."
"Super convenient location with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were cleaned very well daily. Enjoyed the restaurant downstairs both for the daily breakfast buffet, and for a couple of other meals as the price is discounted with your stay at the hotel."
"This hotel was a great location to visit Alfama and easy to take the Tram28 to the other side of town. Magnificent view in Lisbon and highly recommend for an authentic hotel clean amenities! Robes included were a treat. Loved our stay and highly recommend. Also good coffee which is always nice !!"
"Comfortable and clean rooms, helpful front desk (they also have transportation service arranged to return us back to the airport for $25 euros or so), location was perfect! Central to shopping, cafes, restaurants! Next to the oldest bookstore in the world, and situated between two cafe/restaurants!"
"My 3-night stay was fabulous. The hotel is beautiful. The room was clean and quiet. There are a lot of nice thoughtful touches like a piece of dark chocolate on the pillows and the double doors for extra quiet. The location is extremely convenient especially for day trips. It's right next to a major commuter rail station the metro. For walking to the main city attractions, it's only about 10-30 minutes depending on where. I also enjoyed the gym that was well equipped."

If you're planning a bit of sightseeing head to Castle of São Jorge— just one of the monuments in Lisbon City Center. Our travelers also like this historical area for its riverfront setting.

If museums are on your list of things to see, you might want to browse the collections at Olisipónia in Lisbon City Center. Our travelers also like this historical area for its riverfront setting. If you want to see more of the museums in Santa Maria Maior, you can easily walk to Lisboa Story Centre or Fado Museum.
The property was clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff was first class. Very polite and helpful with any questions we had. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in Lisbon.
Wonderful place! The ming size bed was nice and to US standards. The location is great. And most importanly the staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating!
The quality of service, comfort and overall quality was great.
The stuff was very friendly, we are truly impressed about how good it was.
The hotel is located in too on a hill right next to the castle of San Jorge, a 10 minutes walk to the city center, not very far from the airport. I highly recommend anyone to stay there.
My family and I stayed at the apartment and absolutely loved it! It was a bit of a hike the first time getting there but once your are familiar, it was so easy! How many times can you say you’ve stayed within the walls of a castle :)
I loved this hotel so much! I did not want to leave. I actually felt very down the day we checked out. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels but never had such impeccable care. It was above and beyond. Every staff member was at our service. The view and location were amazing. It was a very quiet retreat to return to and within walking distance of everything. I am currently in Porto wishing I was back at my beautiful retreat again. Also, the dining area bar for breakfast and snacks very...
We stayed 9 nights in this extraordinary hotel in the heart of Lisbon.
First, this 35 room hotel has been entirely restored to its original Art Deco form, including cork floors in the room, beautiful marquetry floors in the lobby, elegant furniture and art work in the lobby and bar. Also the sleek, elegant Art Deco door handles (that are beautiful but not so easily grasped).
There is a spectacular breakfast every morning, including traditional Portuguese staples like sardines in olive oil...
Amazing service. Front desk so helpful. Room was very nice and super quiet. Excellent location. Walking distance to many sights. Breakfast was much better than i was expecting from a small hotel Great hidden gem. Highly recommend. Service some of the best I have had.
I booked this hotel for my daughter who is studying abroad and wanted to visit Lisbon. Because she'd be traveling alone, I did a lot of research of all the hotels, the neighborhoods, safety, things to do, places to eat, etc. before deciding this hotel seemed like the best choice.
My daughter confirms! In her words, the hotel was GREAT! The staff were very kind and super helpful. The views from the room are amazing and it was so pretty. They have a large breakfast selection. She always felt safe...
I loved the unique theme and feel to this hotel. It’s a one minute walk to the metro and the famous tram line; however, the area it’s located in isn’t the safest. Every day we encountered people on drugs outside (but they were harmless in our case and we had no issues). Just some strange characters. But the hotel itself is fabulous and they offer unique extras and a copious breakfast! As a woman I would only stay in this area with a male partner and suggest coming back a little before 10pm....
Perfect location! Many shops and restaurants right outside the door. Walking distance to Tagus River and some of the boat tours. Two plazas virtually across the street (Praça do Rossio and Praça da Figueira) One was the meeting point for one of our day tours, and about a 20 minute walk back from the drop off point down a beautiful shady street, Av da Liberdade. We took Uber to anywhere not within walking distance, and you also have the Rossio metro stop right there. Pretty much everyone spoke...
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous! And the restaurant had incredible food and service. Overall, this place is lacking in nothing. I plan to return again some day.
We stayed for 2 days after our cruise. We arrive early. Front desk was welcoming and offered us an available room. We declined and said we’d wait for our reserved room on the upper floor. We toured Lisbon and returned to Lumen in the mid afternoon.
Here’s when the service was exceptional. Front desk was friendly; offered us breakfast at 10 euros and a 30% restaurant discount. The bell boy took our luggage up, explained the various room switches, offered to get us extra coffee/tea/water.
The...
This hotel exceeded our expectations and will never stay anywhere else if returning to Lisbon. The staff were very professional, kind and helpful. Our room was on the front with a balcony overlooking the street but was never noisy. We also enjoyed the large windows letting in lots of light. The room was very large with very comfortable beds and a great bathroom. The location is perfect! The hotel actually sits on ruins, so be sure to look in the room around from the lobby where you can see...
Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Food, staff and atmosphere were wonderful. Will definitely stay again. Easy walk to the square and to a few popular spots.
