Salisbury is a cathedral city in Wiltshire county that dates to the Middle Ages and is dominated by an ornate cathedral tower from the 13th century. The cathedral’s spire rises 123 metres into the sky and features a working clock installed in the 14th century. It’s also famed for housing an original copy of the Magna Carta from 1215 CE. However, the town has plenty of things to see and do beyond Salisbury Cathedral. It offers opportunities to make lifelong memories for couples on a romantic trip or families on holiday.

History enthusiasts will want to visit the Iron Age hill fort and Norman ruins at Old Sarum, and explore the Salisbury Museum, Mompesson House, The Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum, Wilton House, the Salisbury Arts Centre and, of course, the famed standing stones at Stonehenge. You’ll want to explore the Queen Elizabeth Gardens or Harnham Water Meadows for a peaceful, scenic walk among elegant green spaces. The Fisherton Mill Gallery and Café, Poultry Cross and High Street Gate offer many different experiences for shopping and dining. Whichever sites you choose to visit, Salisbury is sure to be a memorable experience.
