2/10 Poor

No reception. Grotty. Poorly maintained premises. Very small bathroom in suites. Cheap, damaged furniture. Frayed carpets.

Nice old charm Wonderful staff

10/10 Exceptional

Gorgeous property with boutique accommodation, awesome service, afternoon cocktails and continental breakfast. It’s like a retreat in the middle of town. We had a queen room and it was roomy, huge tv, you can order a platter if you wanted too. Really loved staying here.

Breakfast was wonderful and fantastic supportive staff in the dining area in particular! Thank you 😊
Window, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Check in/out is digital with reception closed Being unable to access the main building directly from the out building was inconvenient. Digital door entry is problematic for some guests (I was woken overnight by a drunk couple yelling/swearing as they were unable to open the external door) Late complimentary breakfast on weekends which meant I was unable to partake due to timing of work commitments.
Louise, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Beautiful residence however very noisy and needs renovation, especially the carpets.
Tony, 3-night trip

4/10 Fair

Ok, but overpriced and ver old
My review would have been much better, if the room rate and presentation was aligned with its actual condition. Pictures do not match the actual condition of the hotel. Maybe it did 30 years ago. But the place is very run down. I paid for a spacious room and cleaning was good taken the condition of the place into concern. But everything is old - incl. furniture which needed deep throughout cleans. There was a nice cleaning lady one of the days, who cleaned up my self inflicted messy room. That was nice of her. I wouldn’t have booked the hotel if I had read the reviews beforehand. I can only confirm.

we loved the character of the building, its a shame they haven't used more heritage features in the decorating, we had a pleasant stay
Geoff, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Location was very good. Close to shops, Walk along the river. Disappointing that the restaurant was closed but we ate at the Thai around the corner. Very good. We always find that the bed is too hot with a doona. Blankets are not as convenient but a lot more comfortable
EVAN, 1-night trip

Fsbulous.
Helen, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Seemed to not get first email with room and access codes. Had to chase it up.
Jenny, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The message with the access code for the second room was truncated, however a staff member was pivotal to solve the situation
Roland, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Lovely property but breakfast a bit disappointing- coffee machine broken which was only thing we wanted. Staff nice but bit inexperienced. No welcome area even though it’s a beautiful reception. Plus points were spa bath - great and properly is in great location. Try Cinnamon restaurant next door- fantastic
Mike, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

It was disappointing that the bar and restaurant were closed and the lights from the car park to our rooms weren’t on it had a beautiful area outside but because the part lights weren’t on we were not able to sit outside at night and enjoy the garden and swing
Maryanne, 3-night trip

2/10 Poor

Zero service. Formal areas closed. Do not go.
Alastair, 1-night trip

Good Location
Good location. The room had a passcode which took a bit getting used to. There was a continental breakfast included but we choose the eat out instead as we eat breakfast earlier that the times on offer
Monica, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Lovely hotel with strong historic charm. Bairnsdale was a small but surprisingly charming little town. We had technical difficulties checking in as we were never sent the access codes and instruction. The entire hotel seemed to be run by only one exceptionally hard working staff member, but she was very friendly and helpful.
