I simply needed a calm and quiet place to work. I specifically chose The George because its listings had large rooms with a decent sized desks, patio access, a small closet, and a mini fridge. I paid $780 for 2 nights.
Room 210: No desk. No chair in the room. The Patio? Partially broken tiles. No seating or table, essentially useless. I ask if they have a roll in desk or a room with a desk. The front desk immediately get me another room.
I go up to room 720 and see a desk but even less amenities. Small room, no mini fridge, no patio, no small closet (just 5 tiny button hooks at the door).
The bed is positioned ~15” from the wall leaving a small passage to get to the other side. They probably mounted the tv in such an awkward place because of this. But they didn’t even use an adjustable mount so it’s flat to the wall in a way that makes it hard to use. Then to top it off, the 1st night there was no hot water at the sink or shower. The outlet at the sink mirror was not functional, so I had to fix my hair by the door where there it’s dark. No toiletries either.
The hotel decor was pretty, there is potential but there’s no consideration for the guest which is what a higher end hotel is supposed to provide. As it is—genuinely— I feel like I was scammed. I wouldn’t return or recommend.
(By the way there is also no pool, it’s very much under construction—not that I was seeking to use it but just in case you were looking forward to that)
