We stayed for one night and had mixed feelings. The hotel has a great location, right on the marina with beautiful views. The bar and restaurant on the 5th floor offer lovely panoramic views over the waterfront, especially at sunset. It’s also walking distance to the town centre, and there are plenty of food and drink options nearby along the waterfront, which made exploring the area really convenient and enjoyable.
The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, which was a nice start. The room was okay, but we noticed bleach stains on the carpet in both the room and corridor. The shower tap was rusty, and although the bed was very comfortable, it squeaked loudly with every movement, which was quite distracting.
The biggest letdown was the bar. Although it presents itself as a stylish, high-end venue, the service was lacking. We arrived around 6pm after the rain had cleared, but the outdoor tables were still wet. Despite the bar being quiet and at least four staff behind the bar, no one made an effort to dry the tables. We were shocked to see a guest ask for help and be handed paper towels rather than being assisted. For such a “premium” venue, that’s simply not acceptable. The music was also far too loud for the relaxed, mostly older crowd, which really clashed with the otherwise calm setting.
Breakfast had a good range, and most items were fresh, but the croissants were dry and stale—a small detail, but disappointing given the hotel’s price point.
Overall, ok.
