10/10 Exceptional

Friendly helpful staff-- Byron and Jamie even fixed the handle on my suitcase! The moon was full while I was there and I could see it and the moon track on the sea from my window. I had 5 wonderful sleeps at the Lynton, which is being refurbished by its new owners. However, be advised that there is no elevator and also the rooms facing the sea do get the morning sun--lovely in winter, but could be uncomfortably hot in summer.

I had a wonderful stay at The Lynton House Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The new bar area was a great addition as was the new outside seating area. The kitchen area was still being completed, when it is finished bar snacks will be available too. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Although my room was spotless it look tired. The hotel has recently been taken over by new owners who are busy updating and redecorating. With time I'm sure they will be redecorating the rooms one by one. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning there soon.

A friendly welcome and professional staff. Great breakfast to start your day. Perfectly located with a sea view. Everything you need is nearby including the train station should you choose to visit other beaches. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. The hotel is clean and the staff are welcoming. It is the perfect getaway and Teignmouth has everything you could want. Thank you to all the staff for making my stay all the more special.

Good location and value for money

My first stay at Lynton House and an enjoyable one. It was a welcome change to find good old fashioned friendly personal service where you were shown to your room and told where everything was and how it worked such as the pressure shower. Breakfast was good and tasty and set you up for the day and the hotel's location on the seafront was a bonus. Free car parking is available overnight but there is a daytime charge. Some might find the decor and facilities a little dated but those of us of a cerain age probably would describe it as quirky and charming. The rooms are spacious and Lorraine as host is very attentive and caring towards her guests.

Susan, 3-night trip

There was no on-site parking. A nearby public car park however was available but at extra cost.

Great place with fabulous views

Great place to stay right on the seafront with views over the sea. Helpful hosts, great choice for breakfast, lovely bar area with seating outside. Room is a little dated but current owners only took over in April this year and tell me they have plans to update the rooms. That said we enjoyed our 4 night stay, would definitely stay again. No parking at hotel but were able to park either in carpark nearby or on street. Free parking from 6pm to 9am. Parking meters are on Ringo so if you have the app you can pay for parking whilst having breakfast, once you know what to do!

Beachfront stay

Ideal spot just across the road from the beach, parking on street or in the car park nearby. Friendly staff, hotel kept very clean and lots of choice for breakfast. The hotel is under new management and they are beginning to refurbish, so at the moment it still looks a little old fashioned, but no problems with the accommodation.
Gail, 2-night trip

In an excellent position to access the beachfront, the estuary and the town cafes shops and restaurants. All a short walk away. Very quiet. Good breakfast.
MARY, 3-night trip

The property is nice and friendly, could do with easier access for elderly due to the stairs. The parking around the immediate area isn't great.
