My recent stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton in Warren, Michigan, was unfortunately far from what I had anticipated. I chose this hotel specifically for its pool, as my 12-year-old daughter had been eagerly looking forward to a small birthday pool party with family. However, upon check-in, we were informed that the pool was closed and wouldn't be available for another day or two. To our dismay, further investigation revealed that the pool had been closed since the summer, and this crucial information was not mentioned anywhere on the hotel website. This was particularly disheartening as swimming was the sole request for my daughter's birthday celebration.
Despite utilizing the Hilton app, I encountered issues with the wireless room key feature, which was unexpectedly unavailable. The front desk staff, however, were exceptionally helpful throughout my stay, addressing various concerns I had with the room. One of the remotes was missing a battery, which was promptly replaced. The TV in the living room area was unresponsive to the remote, requiring maintenance assistance. The room itself appeared worn down and in dire need of an upgrade. Towels in the kitchen exhibited a yellow tint, and the sofa bed in the living area was broken, though we managed to make it work due to sheer exhaustion.
