My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon for a night while driving the Ring Road. The room was really clean and modern and the staff was very nice. We loved that we got our own little hut.
It was very clean and check in instructions were clear. It would be nice to have towels included but understandable as a hostel. We wish there was an after hours machine to rent towels. Breakfast was good for the area.
Always an excellent stay at Hotel Buðir. The staff members are very professional and helpful. Our rooms were clean with nice amenities and beautiful views. The food is always outstanding and the breakfast is well worth the addition to your stay. A lot of thought and attention have been paid to all details of this hotel.
Though there is no check-in desk, someone arrived quickly after a phone call to take us to our room. The guest house was spotless, and the kitchen/dining area had everything we needed to prepare a hearty breakfast and hot drinks. The view of Kirkjufell from our room was an unexpected treat! Walking distance to several restaurants and cafes, next door to a fascinating gallery spread out all over the area, and a short drive to Kirkjufell itself. This is a nice place to stay if you want the ferry...
The hotel is set in possibly the most beautiful landscape I've ever seen. Mountains, ponds, fields, and the ocean, with the glacial mountain in the distance. The hotel was very comfortable and clean with simple rooms. Besides the gorgeous views, what was so special about the hotel was the delicious breakfast and the dinner buffet add-on. The food was delicious and plentiful with interesting variety. The cuisine was rustic and authentic with many Icelandic dishes and fresh seafood and lamb...
We had a great stay. It was affordable, the room and community areas were clean. Towels and bed linens provided. Plenty of bathroom and shower availability. The shower downstairs was amazing! Body jets and all! Close to a great little restaurant on the waterfront and cafe nearby for breakfast. All and all we were very pleased.
Unlikely spot out just snuggled in front of mountains near the highway. Bright and airy maximizing the view. Restaurant services excellent and an outdoor spa nearby down the road. Property clean as a whistle too. Staff/owners friendly and helpful.
