What makes the difference is the staff, they make you feel welcomed and are very helpful. Admittedly the fist impression was a bit off. We typically stay in major chain hotels and our initial impression was that the location would not workout for us. However this quickly faded and our stay was quite pleasant. Though the facilities are older and show signs of wear the cleaning staff was top notch!

There is nothing anyone can possibly say negative about this property. From the moment of arrival it was exclusivity and luxury at its finest. We had the most basic room in the Villa and I could not have asked for anything more. This has been characterized as a highway hotel and it may so but it's definitely much more than that. Rooms are ample and very comfortable, and clean. Hotel staff is always ready to help. Hotel has a public transportation literally across the street which is very convenient. The area surrounding the hotel looks a bit rough but I didn’t mind it. The wifi was fine and the hotel managed was pretty nice. The hotel was very clean as well
Ramesh was very helpful! We arrived before check-in time and we only waited a little while before our room was ready and he answered all our questions and didn’t make us feel bad because we spoke little Italian. You have to remember customer service isn’t the same as it is in the US so you have to be reasonable but they did an excellent job.
The property, rooms and staff were all amazing. The family that owns the hotel are very hospitable and welcoming. We had a lovely evening chatting with them about a local festival l. It was very memorable.
However, if you did not rent a car buyer beware that it is a long and steep climb/walk to the hotel from any bus stops or ferries. And Ubers/taxis are hard to come by. Other than that the walk itself is beautiful just a little bit difficult.
