"We had a wonderful stay at El Carmen! The property was clean, well maintained and our swim-up room was gorgeous. Our room was conveniently located between the pool/beach and main building. There were great activities planned throughout the day and evening programs as well. There are so many food options and they are all delicious. The Hibachi was a great experience and food was great. The spa was amazing and staff were great. We enjoyed a wonderful massage and hydrotherapy. The spa was clean and looked like it was out of a magazine. We would recommend this resort and would love to stay here again!"

"Pool water wasn’t clean and had birds poops and food quality wasn’t great and 6 of the 11 that traveled there got GI related sickness including an 18 month old child that we had to take to the hospital ER upon landing back home for high fever, throw up and diarrhea. Meat quality was bad and we had to wait about an hour and half one day for dinner to be served."

"Although slightly dated it was very clean and maintained. If any problems arise the staff was very quick to make it right. The food was just ok but the drinks were great! We would 100% go back to this resort."

"The resort was nice and relaxing with decent food and activities. However, the customer service lacked a lot in terms of making reservations for restaurants and requesting room service. Also the water stopped working in the middle of the night."
