Landes is a southwestern region of France that’s more forest than anything else, but you can also enjoy a stunning coastline and beautiful vineyards. The Landes forest is one of the largest in all of Europe, and it’s mostly comprised of maritime pines, which make up more than 65% of the woods. Of course, you may prefer the beach. Landes has plenty to offer in that regard, with more than 106 kilometres of inviting coastline.

The beaches of Landes are quite diverse, some suitable for relaxation and others for thrilling water sports. Surfing, kite surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking are just some of the activities available in the area. Cycling is also popular throughout the region, especially since there are 300 kilometres of cycling paths throughout Landes. The vineyards of Tursan and Bas Armagnacs are popular if you want to enjoy a drink after taking in the breathtaking sights of the area’s natural landscapes.
