Puerto Morelos has managed to retain its quaint, small-town feel despite its proximity to tourist-heavy towns of Cancún and Playa del Carmen. This seaside town lies on the Caribbean coastline of Mexico and its influences are obvious in locals’ slow-paced lifestyle and local cuisines. The 2nd largest barrier reef in the world can partly be found near the shores of Puerto Morelos.
