I have stayed here many times. Southern Cross is an ancient Devon thatched cottage and grade 2 listed building. It is quaint and quirky. The service is brilliant, the breakfast is excellent and very dog friendly. I always enjoy my stay.

Great Stay

Lovely stay. It was clean, quirky and friendly. We had the double room, with sink but not en-suite. The room felt a little small but the bed was really comfortable and we had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The breakfast was excellent - full English, good ingredients cooked cleanly. We would happily book again if staying in the area, definitely recommended.

Door on the bathroom door needs to be addressed as very stiff and kept getting caught on the door frame. Shower not very powerful and took a while to reach temperature. Apart from that stay was good, bed was comfortable, room was spacious.

Overnight stay

This was an overnight stay. It was easy to find and there was a convenient car park. Our host answered the door immediately and showed us up the room. It is a very old building with beams and sloping floors and has lots of character. The room was comfortable and warm. We had our evening meal in a pub called The Canon Inn in the village which was excellent. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Thanks for a lovely stay

The guest house is set off from tge main road in a quaint location. A convenient location for my stop. You first walk in to the garden of the Tea Room, which is a beautiful secret garden. A real surprise. The hosts are welcoming and friendly and the rooms rustic and comfy. The cream tea was delicious as was the cooked breakfast in the morning. A highly recommended stay
