The cultural city of Cuenca entices visitors with popular attractions including University of Cuenca's Orchid Garden and Río Tomebamba & Calle Larga, and is loved for its museums.
If you want to give your credit card some exercise, head out to Quicentro Sur Mall in Quitumbe. It's also full of great shops and restaurants, so you can spend the afternoon having a wander.
You could catch an event at Atahualpa Olympic Stadium, a stadium in Iñaquito. If you think Atahualpa Olympic Stadium is cool, you also might like General Rumiñahui Coliseum and Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado, both located nearby.
If want to top up your tan, you might want to head out to General Villamil Beach, located 0.7 mi (1.1 km) from central Playas. If you want to continue walking by the waves, head to Varadero Beach.
If you want to give your credit card some exercise, head out to Quicentro Shopping in La Carolina. Splash some more cash at Iñaquito Shopping Center and RioCentro Shopping.
Great quiet clean rooms nice place the only bad side was the restaurants only have sandwich's for dinner, we arrived at 10:30pm after a long day traveling without food (plane) we wanted a room service but wasn't available at that time we arrived hopefully they can rearrange kitchen hours thanks

Excellent accomdations and fabulous food! We enjoyed the yoga class to start out our day before hiking the trails. The ponchos to wear around property was a nice touch. Carlos was so kind and friendly.

Exceptional hotel located centrally in Quito! The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and kind. The house is beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. The bedding was top notch, I didn’t want to wake up! But the best part which I will miss throughout the rest of my travels was getting a massage on site each day from Darwin. How nice to have a 90 minute massage after a day of exploring. Don’t skip booking a massage!

I somehow thought this would be closer to the airport, but it was about a 30 minute drive. Nevertheless, Llalo was very clean, safe, professionally operated and the breakfast on the porch was ideal. The rates were appropriate for the lodging. I highly recommend it.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite... 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and washer/dryer. Excellent unit. A/C worked perfectly. The dryer actually got hot and dried our clothes. The kitchen was fully stocked with a real coffeemaker (not the horrible single pod that most hotels now use). There was a full size refrig and freezer with ice trays. Housekeeping cleaned the unit daily. Shower always had hot water and water pressure was strong. You have access to the Marriott hotel connected... benefit of using the...

We stayed at Hotel Casa Gardenia for two lovely nights. It's located on a very quiet, nondescript cobblestone street just a few blocks from the Plaza Grande. The owners and staff were all very helpful and gave us a map of the area with recommendations on sites to visit. If you like to just walk around and explore, then the Hotel is in a great location for doing just that. We explored almost all of Old Town Quito without ever having to hire a driver. Beautiful authentic boutique hotel. I had to stay one night on my way to Galapagos and did not want to stay at one of those chain modern places. This hotel is very charming, with hammocks outside and place to walk safely on the property. Bonus airport transfer included. Onsite restaurant open till 10PM with great food.

A wonderful, small hotel with clean rooms and great views of Banos and the waterfall and hills beyond the town. A reasonably priced breakfast was good and served by attentive staff. All the personal were very helpful and friendly.
