We stayed at Hotel Xcaret México from July 31 to August 3. This was our third visit, and we chose to return based on great past experiences, including one at Hotel Xcaret Arte. This time, we came to celebrate our child’s 15th birthday and hoped for a memorable trip.
While the parks remained amazing, the hotel service fell far below expectations. Upon arrival, we requested that the sofa bed be set up for one of the children, who has a medical condition and cannot share a bed. Despite multiple reminders, it was never prepared. The child couldn’t sleep and had a very rough night.
The next morning, we asked again, and also requested drinking water. Neither request was fulfilled. When we returned later that day, the room hadn’t been cleaned, the sofa bed still wasn’t ready, there was no water, and the elevator was out of service due to power issues.
That night, we asked to change rooms. The process was long and frustrating. Staff offered a room with only one king bed for four people, despite having paid for the children separately. Only after escalating the issue did we get a room with two queen beds—what should’ve been offered from the beginning.
Summary:
• Third visit, first time with poor service.
• Requests were ignored.
• Front desk staff lacked empathy and professionalism.
This experience deeply affected what should have been a joyful family trip. We hope this is taken seriously.
