Don't be fooled by its classic hotel appearance. It is actually a very poorly run old hotel, no more. Without staff or maintenance, the service and condition is more than poor. Broken and dirty upholstery, burned out light bulbs, half unhooked curtains… (see photos). Still plastic curtains in the shower, seriously?
As of mid-afternoon, the only remaining service personnel in the entire hotel are the receptionist and a doorman, who have neither access nor knowledge to solve absolutely anything.
I arrived at the hotel at midnight and found that I had no towels in my room. It didn't seem like it was a major inconvenience. I called the front desk and they said they would bring them to my room. After a few minutes, surprised by the wait, I called again and they told me that it would take 15 more minutes because they had to go to look for them at another hotel! The receptionist had no way of providing me with a couple of towels from her own hotel! What was she waiting to tell me?
Over 20 minutes after ordering, the towels arrived: old, frayed and dirty. The photos speak volumes. I made the receptionist see the condition of the towels, so I assumed that the next day they would be exchanged without fail for some minimally presentable towels.
When I returned from visiting the city the next day, not only did I still have the same old dirty towels, but also the room was unmade: they only have room service for stays longer than 3 nights.
The service was absurd and of the lowest quality.
