I was staying with 2 other people and arrived before they did. Neither of the other individuals were listed on the reservation. I received keys for each individual. When one of my friends arrived, she went to the front desk and they just made her a key to my room without confirming with me that this was the correct guest. This process also de-actived the keys I already had. Noone should be able to walk into any hotel and get a key to a guest room without confirmation from the registered guest. Several people knew I was there, but that doesn't mean I want them all to have a key to my room. I was lucky this was the person I was expecting. When I went to the front desk to have all they key card, re-activated so they were all in sync, I complained to the staff, but hey just blamed it on the manager and the manager never came to help. They were slightly apologetic, but acted like it was no big deal.
