This hotel's policy of no kids under six is tucked below in small letters that are practically impossible to find when booked through the Expedia app. The policy is not included in the check-in instructions either. We made the mistake of booking this place for one night, which included a kaiseki dinner and a private onsen. We reached the hotel shortly after 7 pm with our 5-month-old, and the hotel said they won't be able to accommodate us due to the policy. Instead, they put us in their sister hotel, which is far from the station, does not have a private onsen, and is much cheaper than the hotel we booked. Also, they told us that they wouldn't be able to give us the kaiseki dinner; by the time we reached the other hotel, it was around 10 pm. We were tired and exhausted, and our baby was distressed. The sister hotel reeked of dried fish and only offered some ramen for dinner. The next morning, the sister hotel concerned offered some really subpar breakfast that also reeked of dried fish that we couldn't eat. We asked the sister hotel to call a cab for us but they refused asking us to call our "private taxi". As a result, we had to walk for nearly 30 minutes in the drenching rain with the baby. They also almost lost one of our suitcases as they were preparing to forward only one luggage instead of two to the next hotel. They also didn't refund the price difference between the two hotels. Our worst travel experience so far.
