In general, everything was wonderful. There is just one reason that we had an issue, and it may not affect most travelers, but for us it was important. When we checked in late at night, I requested a late check out for the following day because it was going to be very hot that day and we didn’t have plans until evening so we were hoping to utilize the pool and still be able to shower before checking out, and keep our luggage cool and items from melting. The front desk lady at check in told us that shouldn’t be a problem, and to call down in the morning to make the request. We called just after 8 AM and we were told they could not accommodate our request and we would still need to be out by 11. We were given a paper at check in that said due to our IHG hotels member status, one perk is late check outs! The person we spoke to was unbending. We also went down to talk to them in person and the same woman said absolutely no flexibility and that all the late check out requests had been filled, which I find a little hard to believe by 8 AM. I told Her that I initially requested it the night before and was told to call in the morning, which we did right away. We are understanding people, but in this instance, we were super frustrated by the lack of flexibility and customer service. We explained that we would need to leave all of our belongings in a very hot car throughout the day and find things to do to occupy our time all day in the heat. Not cool. Food was ok and place was clean!
