My family was very shocked at the condition of the room. The entry door for room would not securely lock, the door apeared to have been pryed open as evidenced by the rubber seal being split. In order to seal the door, it was necessary to lift it up and push. Within 30 minutes of arrival I went to the desk to inform of the condition. After reporting the condition of the room, I was informed that there were no other room options available and that the door could not be prepared until the next day. My family felt that this left us in an unsafe and vulnerable condition. When requested to be placed in another hotel, I was informed that leaving would forfeit our prepaid funds, however, due to the unsafe condition and no alternative options, we made prevision to check into another hotel. At checkout the next morning, I asked the desk clerk when would someone be sent to fix the door, and was informed that the night clerk had not reported the door as needing repair. Management should be aware of their liability for not correcting this after being it was reported. The cost to the facily would be high.
This was a devastating start to a planned vacation.
Very disappointed and shocked with the cavalier attitude of the staff at the Walla Walla Quality Inn.
