The guesthouse itself was quite nice, we especially enjoyed having a fresh water hot tub. However, our checkin experience was not pleasant. Our host called us at 5pm on the checkin day saying that we would be staying in a different guesthouse than the one we booked. When we arrived we were surprised to find that the guesthouse we were changed into did not have two bedrooms, which was a deciding factor for booking this accomodation. My partner called the host who explained to us that she was putting us in “a guesthouse that was similar to the price we paid” as we “didn’t pay much”. Basically, she attempted to downgrade us. My partner was forced to stand her ground and say that we weren’t happy with receiving a guesthouse with less rooms. Our host agreed to put us in an apartment that had two rooms and she insisted that we would be happy as it was an upgrade. Unfortunately, the checkin experience ruined our mood because the reason to place us in another cottage wasn’t under our control as we were told the shower broke in the one we booked. Technically this may be an upgrade but it was definitely presented only after the initial downgrade.
