It was well off the beaten track, which was good to be close to the base of the trek up the mountain, but not good for other things to do or places to eat. (not close enough to walk to base. Hotel can arrange a driver/guide)
There is NOTHING here, but a quaint little village and it's a very, very winding narrow road to get down to it. Google maps directed us to go right at the bottom, instead of left and we got stuck in a deep mud puddle. It cost us 300,000Rp to be pulled out by neighbouring kids. Go left!!
The hotel offers Goreng with noodles or rice or as a soup, and fries, nothing else. The pool looked a little sketchy for swimming and it's much smaller than it looks in the photo. Good stop for just one night if you're doing the sunrise hike though. Tip: the hike is straight up the ridge in full sun, (unless you do the sunrise hike) through black volcanic sand and rolling rocks. It's 2 hrs up and 2 hrs down, so make sure you wear proper shoes! It also helps to bring a walking stick, which some tour guides offer. Fabulous views from the mountain!!
