I always start with the positives. We chose this location due to its proximity to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. The location is good, the beds were comfortable, the one mile shuttle is convenient and most of the staff was amazing. They were professional, friendly and full of helpful suggestions. However, the property was really run down and in need of an update. Carpet was coming up in places, wallpaper was peeling…. Garbage was piled up in the hallways and laundry room. We assumed they were short staffed and let all of that go. What upset us more is we had continual difficulty with the key. It kept getting stuck and we would need to insert it several times to enter our room. When brought up to the desk, we received an apology we were informed of a trick to get it to work. Apparently, this was a common problem. Then, one night we could not enter our room at all. The staff was prompt in calling the engineer and it was quickly fixed. However, this is a safety issue. What if there had been a medical emergency or a parent left the room for a minute to get ice and was looked out? It was this incident that prompted me to write the review.
