I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel for several reasons. First, the price for a weekend night was very reasonable. Second, the hotel is directly across a square from the main train station, was very convenient to walk there. Third, the rooms were comfortable and the building interesting, it is quite old and has some charm. Fourth, the lobby bar was quaint and was open to an outdoor cafe. I had a salami and prosciutto plate with olives, sun-dried tomatoes and fresh warm bread which was really reasonable and almost enough for a light lunch/late afternoon snack. Fifth, they have a very interesing restauarant in the lower level, they actually have a small waterfall and pond where they keep trout which you can have "fresh"...this is something you dont see everywhere! Sixth, this is an excellent location for close proximity to restaurants, shops, cafes, etc in the heart of Hannover. I can think of many more times in a similarly priced hotel where I have been disappointed, but this hotel was charming and worked out very well for my business partner and I.
