The positives: The lady that checked us in was very kind and friendly. The hotel was conveniently located in a safe area of town. Breakfast was good with lots of options. The rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. I liked that the pool was no deeper than 5 feet. Shellie’s is a really good restaurant and right across the parking lot, and it’s open 24 hours.
The negatives: the hot tub was quite dirty and the jets didn’t work, which was very disappointing. The pool area had a very strong chemical smell and was not well attended (we had to go looking for towels as there were no clean ones and the bathroom had no toilet paper for two days in a row).
Our room was missed for housekeeping. There was a partial wall behind the door to our room. When we entered, we swung the door wide to make room for the luggage cart and it bounced off the hidden wall, hitting me in the elbow and splitting it open.
In summary, the people were lovely, but I think they might be short-staffed for their cleaning staff.
