This place is...okay. Like many Okoboji hotel options, this property is in serious need of updating. It looks stuck in the 80s. The rooms are clean, but a lot of the exterior could use a vigorous scrubbing. Spider webs around the outside doors and windows, and "patio" furniture (molded plastic chairs) that you wouldn't want to sit on without a towel.
The free breakfast was disappointing, not in terms of selection (standard waffle/cereal/egg/sausage selection), but that they don't staff the room to replenish supplies or even run a towel around the counters once in a while. If you get there in the second hour, you may find much of the food gone, no plates, and the place looking a mess. I saw people rooting through cupboards looking for napkins. And all of the plates etc. are styrofoam, which is terrible for the environment, and ironic given its proximity to a natural attraction.
A meaningful investment in a facelift and regular upkeep would make this place a winner. It's a good location for getting to all of the lakes.
